A large terrace can offer enormous potential, but turning an open rooftop into a comfortable and visually appealing space requires more than simply adding a few decorative elements. It requires thoughtful planning, suitable materials, custom fabrication and proper execution.
For this terrace makeover project in Nagasandra, Bangalore, the client approached Misty Garden Weldscape after watching the Instagram profile. The requirement was to transform a bare terrace into a aesthetical sit out area. The project involved combining multiple roofing options, screening and metal fabrication elements to create a more functional and aesthetically coordinated terrace.
Instead of keeping the terrace completely open, the design incorporated covered and semi-covered sections. This helped to introduce shade, weather protection, privacy and visual separation while maintaining the open character of the terrace.
Initially a site visit was conducted by our CEO of Misty garden team Mr. Shivaraj, came to know the exact requirements of the client and suggested the design for that and took measurements accordingly.

After the site visit created the whatsapp group with the client and shared some of the reference pictures similar to the requirements and for further updates.
3D Design Visualisation
To give the client a clear picture of the proposed terrace makeover, we prepare detailed 3D visualisations before execution. This helps the client understand how each element will be positioned, how the overall design will come together, and how different colours and finishes
will look on their terrace. Any changes or modifications can also be discussed and incorporated at this stage, making the execution process smoother and ensuring that the final outcome closely matches the client’s expectations.

Material Procurement
After the design approval, the required materials were ordered as per the final measurements. The metal sections, CNC sheets, roofing materials, glass and other accessories were procured and checked before being sent to the site.
Execution process
The structure was made using 12-gauge and 14-gauge metal sections to provide the required strength and stability.
A 2mm CNC sheet with an alternate pattern was incorporated into the frame to enhance the visual appeal of the pergola.
The metal framework was carefully aligned, levelled and securely fixed to ensure a strong base for the St. Gobain toughened glass roofing.

For privacy, the client opted for a combination of jaali and CNC frames to create a functional yet elegant terrace enclosure. The supporting metal framework was fabricated and securely fixed as per the approved design and site measurements. Jaali bricks were installed for ventilation and filtered light, while 2mm CNC panels added a stylish decorative element.
Both elements were carefully aligned and finished to create a seamless, durable and visually coordinated privacy screen.

For an area of approximately 130 sq. ft, the client opted for a jaali screen combined with a 10 mm toughened glass pergola to add aesthetic to the building and weather protection.
The jaali was incorporated to enhance privacy and ventilation while maintaining natural light and an open, aesthetically pleasing terrace space.

On the other side of the terrace, puff sheet roofing was installed to create a sheltered area.
It provides effective protection from direct sunlight and rain, making the space more comfortable and usable throughout the year
Emboss sheet for staircase area covering
The staircase area was covered using a 2mm embossed sheet supported by a sturdy metal frame for durability and strength. This covering provides effective weather protection while giving the staircase a neat and finished appearance.
3 D DESIGN VERSUS EXECUTION
The final execution closely reflects the approved 3D design, maintaining the same layout and overall aesthetics this ensures that the final outcome stays true to the original concept.
